A gorgeous tea with a surprising depth of flavour, Gushu Sundried Black Tea is made from the first spring harvest of 200-year-old assamica trees in Xiaohusai Village, Lincang, Yunnan. Dried under the sun, this tea tastes of succulent fruit and raisins, with virtually no bitterness.
Sun-drying the tea (instead of oven-baking it) allows it to continue oxidising, ageing and changing flavour over time.
We love how the fruity flavour of this tea lasts for so many infusions. It’s a great ‘wow’ tea to serve to people whose main reference for black tea is English Breakfast teabags, as it shows how diverse the world of black tea really is.
