Hello!
We're a team of Hong Kongers who love tea. We believe that true tea is a beautiful thing, just as it is, with nothing added. As you explore the infinite varieties of pure whole leaf tea, you may end up falling for its mesmerising flavours, just as we did.
There is no one right way to enjoy true tea. It can be a ceremony, a ritual, a way of life, or a simple beverage. While we honour the traditions associated with tea, we don't limit ourselves to them. There is no "should" around tea, except that it "should" be an enjoyable part of everyday life.
We invite you to discover beautiful tea with us!
Our selection criteria
Our selection criteria is simple: “teas we love”. We choose teas that excite us and make us fall in love with tea all over again.
All our teas are small-batch (no mass-produced teas here!). With small-batch teas, we can ensure that our teas are “true”— pure, whole leaves with no artificial flavours added. Every batch reflects differences in terroir, weather and processing methods, and these variations help us treasure the transient beauty of tea.

Our heroes
We have a close relationship with the farmers we source from and visit them often.
It never ceases to amaze us that many farms still produce tea almost entirely by hand, from picking to wilting, frying, rolling and roasting. So much skill and hard work goes into it that we feel it’s only right for the makers’ stories to be told. They are after all the true heroes of the tea world.

Our design philosophy
Our designs celebrate the natural beauty of tea.
The design on our packaging is lifted from a series of tea-dye artwork that we commissioned plant-dye artist Anna Cennamo to create. The natural dye patterns convey imageries of tea mountains undulating in the distant mist and also beautifully illustrate the layers of flavour that unfold with every infusion of tea.
Our founder
Nana Chan left the corporate world to start her own tea café teakha in 2012, wanting to foster the feeling of togetherness over great tea and homemade cakes. teakha was a hit from the get go, especially with younger generations.
Having developed a greater appreciation for true tea, Nana opened Plantation Teas in 2017 to promote tea in its purest form. In 2023, she opened Plantation Tea Bar, which offers unique experiences with tea, from creative tea pairings, sparkling cold brews and tea cocktails to four-course tea tasting menus - the first of their kind in Hong Kong.
