In our “Tranquility” Tea Salon hosted in conjunction with Gallery Tete earlier this month, our tea master Yannie aimed to evoke the serene atmosphere of a secluded valley and deep forest.

Yannie’s tea selection were chosen for their understated character; flavours that do not announce themselves loudly, but emerge gently, offering quiet floral notes and a sense of deep calm, layered depth. Elegant White Peony (Bai Mudan) was paired with a pistachio caramel brittle, whilst an ancient-shrub Gushu Old Tea Head from Wuliang Mountain was paired with our signature red date walnut pastille. This is a conversation between Chinese tea culture and Japanese aesthetics; presenting a fusion of taste, sight and touch.

White tea | White Peony

Delicate downy aroma mingles with soft floral hints. It enters fresh and sweet, leaving a smooth, lingering sweetness and gentle refreshment.
Ripe pu-erh | Ancient tree tea heads

Woody mountain air, held close and steady. The tea feels rich and velvety, with a warm, extended sweetness.

We invite you to visit Gallery tete while the works remain on view . The teas are also available online, so you can continue the quiet appreciation of tea and objects at home.
