Wu San Di 吳三地 is an area in Northwest Wuyi city known for its clean habitat and for being home of over 2,000 Shui Xian tea trees. The village is founded by the descedents of Wu San Gui, a Chinese military leader from the late Ming and early Qing dynasty, and close to 80% of the residents still has the last name Wu.
Wu San Di is 1,200m above sea level, and is surrounded by mist. This makes it a perfect habitat for tea cultivation. The trees are mostly left to nature, thickly covered with moss.
This Shui Xian has a vastly different flavor profile to the Bai Zhang Yan Old Grove Shui Xian 2017. While both exhibits the famous thick and smooth mouthfeel of Shuixian, the Wu San Di has intriquing ripe fruit notes and a deep sweetness.
