We’ve long wanted to create a “Chinese Chai”. If one can pair Chinese tea with aged tangerine peel or boil it together with ginger, why not something equally citrusy or spicy as a festive “western” tea? And what if we made it in a pressed bar style, complementing actual chocolate?

Then surely, the opportunity came when we were egged on by our friends at Conspiracy Chocolate to create the ultimate Christmas collaboration; a holistic marriage of the essence of tea and chocolate.

Our tea bar is essentially a “Chinese Chai”, featuring malty Gushu Black Tea from Yunnan pressed into a bar with orange peel and cinnamon; whilst our friend’s chocolate evokes cherished childhood memories of holidays abundant with milk chocolate and nuts. Infusing our Gushu Black Tea into the chocolate introduces a Chinese nuance, while mulberries add a layer of honey-sweetness, and pecans of course just scream Christmas! The perfect gift for the epicurean.


We will be having a Choco' Tea Night to celebrate this special collaboration!

For one night only, Celine and Amidt from Conspiracy Chocolate will be gracing the bar at Plantation to share their stories about chocolate making and to introduce our new Holiday Collection together! Meanwhile, our team at Plantation have created two limited edition Tea x Chocolate drinks - a Gushu Red Negroni and a cozy tea-tinged Spiced Hot Chocolate - to celebrate the launch.
