Rougui Rock Tea
Wuyi Rougui | 武夷肉桂
Tasting notes: Woodsy, deep, dried fruit
Origin: Wuyishan, Fujian, China
Cultivar: 肉桂 Rougui
Sourced from the coveted Baiyun Rock region of Wuyishan, this tea has a distinctive dried fruit aroma and a deep, clean flavour.
Why we love it:
- Baiyun Rock, literally "White Cloud Rock", is located at the top of Wuyishan’s famous Jiuqu river and is one of the most sought after rock tea regions, because its conditions are so pristine and the area is often shrouded in mist
- It is roasted with lychee wood charcoal, which adds another element to its flavour profile.
- It has a thick and rich mouthfeel, a smooth texture, and a layered flavour with notes of wood bark, dried fruit and spices.
