Jade Well oolong tea is a type of Rock Tea from Wuyishan in Fujian, China. Wuyishan's Rock Teas often have minerally flavour notes (岩韻 "rock rhyme") because the tea plants grow in a mountainous environment where streams flow over rocks, picking up minerals that then nourish the soil and plants.
This cultivar is native to Nei Gwei Dong ("Inner Ghost Cave") in Hui Yuan Keng, one of the most well-preserved, prime tea regions of Wuyishan, with narrow pathways, flowing rivers, and steep cliffs. The unique terroir is home to many famous cultivars including Tieguanyin (Iron Buddha).
We like this tea for its elegant aroma, roasted charcoal notes and rich body.
