Wild Handcrafted Longjing | 野生手工龍井

Tasting notes: Fresh, honey, candied chestnut
Origin: Jiande, Zhejiang, China
Elevation: 800m
 Oxidation: ⦿○○○○
Light roasted

A soft and delightful handcrafted Longjing harvested from wild trees that perfectly embodies the joy of Spring. This tea is grown without human intervention at high altitude. Free of fertilisers and pesticides, this tea boasts a clean flavor profile and surprising sweetness.

This wild Longjing is not as "beautiful" as our other Longjings - you'll find inconsistent sizes, shapes and colors. That actually is a hallmark of wild teas, as they are grown only with what nature provides.

The whole tea-making process is by hand. The yield is limited per year, but this allows the tea maker full control of every detail, which is why this tea tastes so balanced. The aroma, mouthfeel and flavors all come together to produce a fresh and soft sweetness that we crave from a Spring green tea.

Most traditional Longjing tea farms are at lower altitudes. This year's Longjing is from a lesser known region with high altitude farms. This village from Jiande was a big Longjing producer back in the 80s, but as the economy grew, the city lured most people away and the tea farms were abandoned.

In 2018, Ms Wu returned from the city to her home village to take over her family farm. She discovered the abundance of abandoned tea trees on the mountains and decided to focus on producing teas without fertilisers and pesticides. Ms Wu believes that tea is meant to nourish the body and is committed to offering clean and natural teas for her customers.
