 Cultivar: 福鼎大白 Fuding Dabai

Gong Mei White Tea is a great everyday tea with a hearty flavour, reminiscent of honey and dark chocolate. It has a deep sweetness and roundedness that makes it easy to drink at any time of day. It also ages well, becoming mellower over time. This tea handles hot temperatures well and rarely gets bitter.

What is Gong Mei White Tea?
Gong Mei 貢眉 is the third picking grade of white tea, after Silver Needle 白毫銀針 (purely buds) and White Peony 白牡丹 (buds and leaves), and comprises mostly leaves with the occasional furry white bud. The higher proportion of larger leaves gives it a more robust, full-bodied flavour, and makes it ideal for ageing.

We always say that personal preference doesn’t have to follow picking grades and market prices. You might like Gong Mei more than the finest, most expensive Silver Needle. It is up to you which type of tea you most enjoy on any particular day.
