Curly Longjing Green Tea｜龍井
Tasting notes: Nutty, grassy, mung bean
Origin: Longjing, Hangzhou, China
Cultivar: 群體種 Qunti Zhong (Old Tree)
Longjing (Dragon Well) tea is one of China’s most famous green teas with a history that goes back centuries—a tea that was immortalised in the poetry of Emperor Qianlong in the Qing dynasty. Longjing green tea has a creamy nuttiness combined with a bright grassy freshness characteristic of Chinese green teas. Made of tender new leaves, this green tea leaves a powerfully sweet aftertaste (回甘) long after you’ve finished drinking it.
We called this batch "Curly Longjing" because the leaves are not as flat as the classic Longjing tea. This is due to the individual processing preference of the family who made this small-batch, homegrown tea.
