The importance of storing your Puerh tea properly
Keep your puerh age gracefully!
As Puerh tea ages, it changes flavour. Aged tea doesn’t necessarily taste better – it’s up to your individual preference.
Unlike green tea, Puerh should not be stored in an airtight container, as the ageing process requires some air flow. Both Sheng and Shou Puerh should be stored away from direct sunlight and away from strong smells (e.g. away from the kitchen).
Our White Pumpkin Ceramic Canister, handmade in Dehua, an area in Fujian province famous for its Blanc de Chine white Chinese porcelain is a good option for loose Puerhs, oolongs and white teas, as it protects tea from the sun, and has a non-airtight seal.
